Dead Line - DEAD

Supposingly 2 person working under the same project.

A is the manager and B is the Engineer. A is in charge of design of building A and B is in charge of building B. So when there is an ammendments on the project, A (manager) asked B(Engineer) to revise the design.

then B ask A, "When is the Deadline?".
A said: "No specific Deadline."

so B just constantly doing her job-lar...

Then it happened yesterday... A came and ask B to pass some information to other departments.

A:" Can you pass the column loads to the Geotech Department by today? (mumbling something else too) "

(canot hear clearly but remembered hearing column loading or something)

B:" Column Loading and what? Drawings?"

A:" ohh... column loading... by today. but actually they want the drawings in 2-3 days."

B was surprised to hear that.. but it is still ok, the work is manageable.

A:" Actually the deadline is 30th of June"

B was even more surprised to hear that, in fact... a bit shocked. (and yesterday is already 2nd of July)

A:" Actually i cannot finish mine... so it doesn't matter... "

B WAS LIKE WHAT THE HELL???!!! because the manager himself cannot finish his work on time then he DOESN'T EVEN BOTHER TO TELL HIS TEAM MEMBERS WHEN IS THE DEADLINE??

Plus, he only inform the team member the deadline AFTER the date???

(yesterday is ALREADY 2nd of July, Deadline = 30th of June)

*Also Note: see when A talks he always start his sentence with the word "actually"...

actually actually actually i am GODDESS lar OK?
the story continues...
A(pretend to look innocent but is actually cunning and evil, trying to show the face like he told B about the deadline before)

PISSED OFF B:" I AM VERY SURE YOU NEVER TELL ME ABOUT THE DEADLINE. I ASKED YOU BEFORE. YOU TOLD ME THERE IS NO SPECIFIC DEADLINE.

It is not like B cannot deliver the deadline.

It is the problem of wrapping up the whole thing and submit on time... because B is also constantly doing her job.

suddenly B realised something...

just because A cannot finish his work on time, so he intentionally doesn't inform B about the deadline.

so when A himself FAILED to deliver his deadline, he can blame his team member B too for NOT BEING ABLE TO DELIVER the deadline.

IDIOT!!!!

and you are right... the poor B is ME!

p/s: You think this is Titanic arhh? U JUMP I JUMP, U DIE I DIE? i don't want to DIE with a person like YOU, OK?
Update: when i submit my job to the project manager today, i found out from him that he "Actually" informed A(manager) the deadline for the job on the very FIRST day... confirm this manager A is a A**hole!!

It's not A4 but B5 OK?

this is a personnel experience, no joke man. I simply cannot understand why are we still living in the stone age? or is it because of my town ( 1/2 an hour journey away from KL ) is too jungle?

so here is the story... it is a bit long winded and boring...

Yesterday (Sunday) i wanted to print some very important documents books i illegally downloaded from the net, and it is so conveniently in pdf format. so i thought i wanted to print it out in double pages, B5 size (The normal A4 size is too big for a book / fitting 4 pages of content into double sided A4 is also not my style)

so i went to the town and look for a photocopy shop. I was so unlucky because most of the shops in this small town is closed on Sunday. the one i usually go is closed too. I thought i was lucky, i saw a busy photocopy shop. then i went in, waited for couple of minutes, nobody seemed to want to entertain me. Finally, the lady boss saw me wandering around... then i ask her

"Do u print B5?"

she said "Yes"

so i was happy. they have this Odd size rather than the usual A4. then I patiently wait for my turn because some students from teknik school is using the computer to print their homework.

Who knows, to my surprise.. when i ask the lady boss about the price (after waiting for another few mOre minutes) she told me that her machine cannot print B5 double page. What on earth... i was so surprised! she have 2 big machines (as big as the printer in the photo shops) and several smaller typical photocopy machines. And yet she is telling me she cannot print double sided B5? To my amazement when i questioned her again, she said

" You need to come back later because those people are using the computer. You can only print single sided B5. I already asked my "Programmer", he said the machine cannot do double sided, unless u do it manually" (as in printing the odd pages first then flip the paper and print the even pages again)

I was like "what the hell... u want me to kill more trees is it?" some more u are charging me 2o cents per page. and i have like 500++ pages to go and not less than 1 book... can fire the lousy programmer who service you. Doing Double sided printing on A4 is what I ALWAYS do in the office. Just click the button from the computer, and the dumb machine will do all the donkey jobs. And just because i dont have B5 Sized paper NOW so i don't do it in the office.

without second thought i left the place...

then i called my friend. he told me what i wanted to do is "Professional Printing" and i shall seek for "Printing Shops" instead of "Photocopy Shops".

Ok, now i only realised there is a difference between "Printing Shops" and "Photocopy Shops"

So i went to another Printing Shop. and when i ask for B5 printing with the pdf file... that one and only worker sitting in the shop told me that her supervisor is not in. So she gave him/her a call to ask for the price. Then while she was making a call to her supervisor, she said

"tapi, printer hari ini ada problem-la"
( the printer is not functioning well today )

She gave me the felling that she doesn't want to entertain me. So i just left the place since she couldn't get her supervisor... And her service attitude is very disappointing!

I suddenly felt so unbelievable. Why is it so hard to find B5 computer printing? Everyone is doing ONLY A4 A4 A4 and keep pressing the copy button. What about computer printing and let the dumb machine do all the donkey printings. i'm sure that is more relaxing and easier money $$.

Really Shocked! Culture Shocked!

So i couldn't get anything done. The moral of this story is:

"Photocopy Shops" = those who only want to use ManPower to keep pressing the button to copy existing documents for you. Rarely do computer prints. cannot do double sided printing with their big big machines.

"Printing Shops" = those who are professionals who can do "computer printing"

Today i went to a few printing / photocopy shops at Ampang Park. surprisingly they also don't do B5 printing, only A4. and i could not find any place selling B5 size paper either.

Anyway i also went to the usual photocopy shop in my town. The owner told me that computer printing can be done, but it is very hard for him to connect the cables... Another shock...
Quote: "very hard for him to connect cables" really LOL!!

At the end, i bought 1 ream of B5 paper from the uncle, and decided to print it myself in the office. Double Sided, B5.

It took Mi Longer than Usual to reach Work

i practically don't understand why government projects can take so d*mn long to finish. Especially upgrading a road/highway. i don't know how many are they outside, but those affecting my journey to work, really makes me feel annoyed.

Upgrading Jalan Cheras - Jalan Loke Yew is a total failure project. I can recall that it took at least 4 years to finish the whole stretch of upgrading work. And yet after its completion, the road is still super jam. And now, they are doing something on the Jalan Cheras roundabout... causing massive traffic jam / cars slowing down near the stretch to curious about the work progress.

And now, this road in front of Phoenix Plaza at Cheras Batu 9 is another failure!!! How many years have it been? 4, 5 or 6?

Sometimes, it is their lousy commitment that makes the road jam. Imagine causing the congestion purely because the workers FORGOT to remove the barricades (road blocks) after the maintenance/work done last night.

Today, it took me almost 2 hours to drive from Kajang to KL (Jln Ampang). what the hell is wrong with our traffic system?

For the past 2 weeks (school holidays), i was really having honeymoon on the road.

For example, I can only apply lotion - primer foundation - blush (while driving / jam) and the rest will have to wait until i park the car / reach the office to do. (That shows how short is the duration to reach my destination)

AND YES I DO MY MAKE UPS WHILE DRIVING TO WORK!!

but today... i applied lotion, lip cream, primer foundation, concealer, blush, eye shadow (several layers not to mention reapplying because the colour doesn't match my outfit today) continue applying ---> lip colour, lip gloss... and applied my moituriser mist... and YET, i am still no where near my office. oh yea i forgot to comb my hair!!!

Hey i am not the one who does other activities while driving. those cars stucked behind / in front me are spending their jam time effectively too. Reading the newspaper, drinking water (ok-lah i also drink water while driving), applying make-ups (see i'm not the only one doing that), smoking + throwing the cigar butts on the road (Yucks thats why i hate smokers), talking on the phone etc etc...

I know it is very dangerous to do so while driving. But i only do that when the car stops/jam. At least i tail the car in front of me and accelerate instantly when the traffic lights turn green. I'm highly alert and this is the way i train my sharpness. Intensic training to be alert at all time! Not like some cars they basically don't want to go further faster even there are 4-5 cars spacing in front of them (i wonder what are they doing in the car?)

Ok, please don't tell the policeman about my unusual activities while driving... i always hide it when i see a policeman on the road, and behave like a good driver...

i think it is enough of exposing my driving behavior... i shall behave like a good driver starting tomorrow. concentrate on driving when i am on the road. I truly hope so~~

Why i hate Smokers so much

Smokers are selfish barbarian who are so inconsiderate to others. Even though smoking is banned in public area, i can still see people smoking in air conditioned restaurants! and even inside malls! not to mention those hiding at the stairwell inside malls.

I have a lot of comments on smokers...

- Smoking makes them look stupid instead of cool. (smoking will kill you faster)

- Smokers believed that drinking coffee + Smoking is heaven and it will make the coffee taste nicer!
Fact is, Killing yourself faster is even nicer.

- Smoking after meals will not make you become God, instead, it will kill you 10 times faster than your normal suicidal act of smoking every time

- Smokers are hopeless addicts who rely on cigarettes.
when they can't think of an idea, smoke.
when they are under pressure, smoke.
when they got nothing to do, smoke.
when they want to lose weight faster, smoke.

And last but not least...

SMOKERS STINK!!! THEIR HAIR STINKS. THEIR BREATHE STINKS. THEIR TEETH STINKS. THEIR WHOLE BODY STINKS. AND THEY MAKE ME STINK!!

Imagine the smell of your Marlboro Cigars infiltrate the Female Toilet when i am inside... AND YOU MAKE MY HAIR STINKS TOO!

PLEASE DO NOT SMOKE AT THE STAIRWELL NEXT TO THE FEMALE TOILET BECAUSE HR ALREADY ISSUE A WARNING NOTICE

YOU WILL BE FINED IF YOU SMOKE THERE

And trying to hide your cigarettes odour by applying fragrance is a total failure. The mixture of your stinking bad body odour from the cigarrettes and the fragrance totally makes me want to puke.

Let's hope that smoking will kill all their brain cells... make them stupid... and die faster

Just ignore this morning rant, i just cannot take it while people pressured me too much with the Smoke, while the Smoke (Haze) is all over the country and YET people can still do open burning. No wonder we are so way behind civilization.

Hot Mama Day

what did i do on Mom's day...

not just a regular buying mom presents, taking her out for dinner etc etc celebration. We actually cook lunch for mom!! without having any other people's help. and by saying We, it means me and my 2 sisters...

Menu of the day:

1. Ginger + Spring Onion Chicken
2. Asparagus mixed fried with Mushrooms
3. Fried Bayam
4. Soup

3 flowers to represent the 3 sisters restaurant.. (Y)@-@(Y)

impatient dad waiting for lunch... when can i eat, when can i eat.... so hungry....

finally cannot resist it... lets feast!!!

we actually started from 9am til 1pm to complete the whole course of meal. and it is like taking F-O-R-E-V-E-R to finish all the tasks.

it is not an easy task to cook 4 dish + 1 soup for the whole family. i realised that being a house wife is so much tougher than working. next time when my boss throw me a whole load of work, i will try not to complain and think of how much tougher my mom's job is... taking care of a whole bunch of monkeys like US!!

finally my mom can rest a day specially for her. (but tomorrow she has to resume everything again, Thanks MOM) ha ha ha!

Happy Monday Blues

This is again, another Monday, especially after the long 3 days madness shopping sleeping doing nothing weekend.

Hate Monday. i never like monday... monday is like that evil side of every single bad things. while friday is like heaven side of every single thing.

i wonder what it feels like if you are working in a Bumi company. in fact, i am sort of like working in a half Bumi Company.

10 signs of a Bumi Company:

1. People still enjoying their breakfast even though working hours have started for long. - check -

2. It is not hard to find a piece of kuih, curry puffs, nasi lemak, mee goreng in the department. - check -

3. Bored workers gathered around and chit-chat as if this is a pasar malam (night market). - check -

4. Papers paper Reading Newspaper is the most important thing to do especially in the morning even if it is already working hours. - check -

5. You won't be surprised seeing people playing games during lunch break or even during working hours, most common ones --- Solitaire, MineSweeper, Tetris, Zuma, Dynomite etc... you name it we have it. - check -

6. There is no time limit to have a coffee break / teh tarik break / chiam (kopi+tea) break, whatever break... you name it we have it. - check -

7. It is okay to pray as much / as often / as long as you want during office hours because sending my Prayers to God is more important than anything else, also including sleeping in the rest rooms or taking my sweet time there. - check -

8. We are always curious about what is happening to other people, other department, somebody's friend / relatives, politics etc etc etc anything you can think of... to gossip about it. - check -

9. I do not need to keep my mobile in silent mode because it is fun letting others to hear my ring tone / sms alert, like a "beep" or doraemon sound/baby sound/happy-tree-friends sound. -check -

10. Some bored employee is sick and tired of Monday Blues and has nothing to do but to rant about how Bumi her company is, and hope that it will cure her Monday Blues. -check-

If you are seeing more than half of these symptons in your company, considered yourself in the club!!

Happy Monday Blues!

Cute Japanese Food

Just in case you have not received this forwarded e-mail from your "Always Crappy Only Forward e-mails Friends" ... this is something i would like to share...

BEWARE: THESE ARE FOOD!!! NOT TOYS!!! DO NOT PLAY WITH THEM!!!

Thanks for my "Not-So-Crappy-Sister" who forwarded this e-mail to me!! ^^

Japanese are so good at packaging, details and making cute stuffs!

Love them very much ^^

Something to Rant on a Munday Monday

I hate Monday when it really comes to Monday .

That is when they have the term "Monday Blues". why Blues? not Red? Yellow? Pink? or even Green? i dont know, maybe blue can describe a sick of Monday person better.

it is so hard to wake up from the cozy bed every Monday. Why cant weekend be any longer... like forever (Y)@_@(Y) Or if the moment you roll on bed and refuse to wake up can last a little bit longer? even it means for just another extra 1 second? :P

blah blah blah... the same O road, same O jam... same... MONDAY!

i guess no one will like Monday, unless u are a workaholic. going back to the pile of jobs left on your work desk throughout the weekend is like going back to... ... hell? hahaha... i've not been to hell, but if i had, hell might be worse!!

Luckily everyone else is also having the Monday Blues syndrome. everything is moving slowly, quietly... and secretively... probably somebody is still enjoying his/her breakfast at 9:30am, on a Monday! who cares anyway... this is Malaysia. so long as everyone can have their nasi lemak, kuih-muih, roti canai and a cup of teh tarik in the morning... nobody will care what will happen the next day... like... Global Warming?

Like heck who cares about Global Warming? the 60 Earth Hour is a fraud. what is the purpose of turning off the lights for an hour and the next day going to the cemetery and prayed the deceased at the same time having open burning of the 'duit' for your ancestors.

To tell you the truth, i am actually feeling slightly better after ranting so much (little!). this is probably another good therapy for me, aside from listening to music...

there goes another boring Monday...

Jason Mraz!

i only realized that Jason Mraz is such a great singer! he just came to Malaysia and performed! At that time i still have no idea who is this fella! but now i'm really into his songs!

"01 -Make it Mine"
"02 -I'm Yours"
"03 -Lucky"
"04 -Butterfly"
"06 -Love for a Child"
"07 -Details In The Fabric"
"10 -The Dynamo Of Volition"

All this are my favourites in his latest album "Jason Mraz - We Sing, We Dance, We Steal Things" in fact, most of the songs in this album is light, easy... and touching! just follow the flow of the songs... from first to last. although it is a little late to introduce his songs now (this album was released in yr2008 May) however great staffs are better late than never!

hope everyone will enjoy his songs!

The Reason why this Blog Sux

haha... tell me about Christmas, New Year Resolution... or even CNY Resolution. i dont even mention them in my blog. the reason is simply... the blogger is L.A.Z.Y.!!

Gyoza Memories

I remember the good old days when i was still in the university, i used to love cooking alot...
Gyoza and Wanton, made them myself

one full plate of Gyoza!

steamed Gyoza!!! ready to be served!!!

and since i've graduated and returned to Malaysia, and started working... i have decided to surrender my hoby to my mom since i am so lazy to cook ever since i've started working~ she is taking care of our meals full time!

but last saturday i decided to pick up my hobby again since my sisters miss my gyoza so much and at the mean time some unforeseen circumstances will occur soon (meaning now)

so i decided to teach make so Gyoza, and teaching my 2 sisters to how to make gyoza.

----->
1st younger sister's masterpiece

<-----

youngest sister's masterpiece

My masterpiece!!!

(somehow i feel that my skills have deteriorated alot, i'm no longer talented in cooking!!!)

Anyway, we've enjoy ourselves during the process of making the Gyozas. not forgetting the GYOZA EATING SESSION !!

i actually pan fried them this time! look at the colour of the Gyoza! not too burnt and not too raw. just at the right colour. and it is best served with... non other than our favourite --- THAI CHILI SAUCE!!!

and how can this be served without the full set of WAN TON noodles? yum yum!!

sei liao i feel so hungry!! it is already 11pm now and i am not supposed to think about food anymore!!

notice the time difference when i blog this post? suppose to be 5am in the morning but it is 11pm here? wuhahahahaha..... where am i now?

* current Gyoza pictures are stolen from fish's blog. Sorry sis! too bad that it was such a rush and i dint get the photos from you before i went outstation, again. And since i'm so bored here and i miss home so much, so i blogged about our Gyoza making!

Leptis Magna - Libya (II)

remember this photo i posted earlier?

check out the expression!! haha

anyway, u are right! this is the ancient "si hang" for the Romans! aka TOILET BOWL / 马桶 !!!

The hole in the middle is for u to sit on it and then do your business! but isn't it a little too small? what if somebody's "ekhem" is too big or he missed?? ok ok try not to think about if further else it will disgust everyone!

but it looks so much better than the ancient china dig a hole on the ground toilet bowl u see in the TVB series! haha ^^

These Romans are very developed in their sanitary facilities. Imagine 3,000 years ago they already invented high class toilet bowl, and also not forgetting

THIS

and THESE

they call it, stim bath / sweat bath. aka jacuzzi in modern description.

see how lavish their life during the ancient time.

Moving forward, u will see fine carving on the columns. which u think are normal carving.

but... look at them carefully. the column on the left shows the growth of zigot, embrio, fetus... which means a BABY in the mother's stomach. whilst the column on the right shows the growth of a baby to man. where eventually it will turn to the guy standing on the right end (our tour guide!) bwahaha... just a coincidence that he was standing right there when i took the photo! ;P

more rocks (market place)... where they have their own standard measurements of length, weight for the business (that time they don't have SI units like kg , m etc.)

i think i've seen enough of rocks and fallen sculptures from this place. not to mention that the whole visit lasted for 2 hours between 10pm-12pm. which cause us to melt down and sunburn after the visit.

i shall end this entry with more great pictures.

At the top of the theater! the sky and the sea is so beautiful and the scenery is superb!

it is so great to be here. at least not for the work. just the visit (this tourist spot is basically empty, without any crowds and bunch of tourists)

Lets hope that i do not need to go back to this place anymore! haha!

Leptis Magna - Libya

Sorry about the MIA for almost a month. i was so happy to be home after that Libya working trip. Was a disaster and i realised that the place u wanted to be the most is always home. Although the shopping and outing is also quite important. Especially when something is banned in those country... which i wrote earlier here

during the 13 days of work vacation in Libya, i was lucky to visit this historical place. else, it'll be all work work work!

Introducing... Leptis Magna!
You will be surprised what u will see here, in Libya!!!

.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.

Ok ok not this so-so normal lookin' stele. Leptis Magna is actually a declared UNESCO World Heritage Site!

Standing in front of Septimius Severus Arch!

A prominent city of the Roman Empire! Leptis Magna~~

Forum of Septimius Severus

Lucius Septimius Severus is actually the emperor of Leptis. So he is the important guy who built all the things in Leptis Magna and made it the third most important city in Africa. (btw, Libya is situated in North Africa, facing the Mediterranean sea)

but all we can see now are ruins here, yet they are still amazing!

look how beautiful this arc is formed without any steel embedded inside. Imagine how people back in 3000 years ago (1100 BC) have the skills and knowledge to built these!

The fallen off head Medusa!

There are a lot of myths and historical facts for this ancient Roman city. but the weather is too hot that i cant focus on listening to the explanation of the tour guide. Pity him to keep talking about Leptis Magna throughout our whole 2 hours visit.

but actually he is paid to do that :P

The Theatre... the view is great up there!

But first, picture of the day. What was i sitting on?

haha... u'll be surprised!! Look how happy i am! check it out next time!!

(to be continued)

Mystery Revealed!

finally, the days have gone back to routine... i'm again, as usual... busy with work... and alas, time to reveal where i went disappear last 2 weeks!

"SaLLaAm!!" is the first word u should learn when u are in this country. because, it means "hello". yes, just in case u are guessing... you are wrong. i was in Libya!!!

question... where on earth is Libya?! Nobody knows where is Libya. technically speaking, it is at North of Africa, an Arab country. Yikes, why was i sent to Libya? because Libya found oil, and they are the richest country in Africa. and since

OIL = MONEY = RICH

they have the money to develope a town, just like that. Our construction site is about 2.6km x 3.5km, imagine how big the development is!

but look at this place, u really eat sand more than anything else.

besides sand, they also serve mud! this is the construction site next to the office where i spent most of my time rotting there.

And also, not forgetting the HOT sun!! By looking at it, u feel dizzy already!!

The temperature during summer is about 35 degree celcius. Well, u may think that it is the same as in Malaysia, but then it is far worse than u expect. Libya is so much drier and hotter than Malaysia because it has less trees, and south of Libya is Sahara and north of Libya is Mediterranean sea. In fact, once i cross the road at the back of the construction site, it is the sea already!!!

but this is not just it... more to come, about Libya! (they have some interesting historical places to serve, not just sand and mud!)

Happy Moi!~~

yes i am finally home!!!
and these are the things i miss the most when i'm over there!!! what were u thinking?? haha...

No.1 - Yin Yong, also known as Kong Fu chao (mixed fried rice vermicelli and kueh teow with egg sauce)

No.2. Dong Fun Ha (vermicelli in condensed milk and tiger prawns, plus spices of parsley and chilli )

No.3. of course, not forgetting the Ultimate Hokkien delicacy......
HOKKIEN MIEN!!

don't u just love Malaysia for its food culture?

The Night Before i leave this mysterious place

finally... i'll be going back home.
all the tasks are completed (at least mine is) and all my team members are very eager to go home. time to seek for some relax and relieve after work. And guess what i found here?! wow... i must be lucky! this green bottle looks very familiar, isn't it? but hey wait...

Look carefully what it is written on the bottle!? it is ...
NON ALCOHOLIC?!!

what the... is this a BEER? does it still consider a BEER if it is non alcoholic?
and why on earth does anyone want to drink something non alcoholic whereas it is supposed to be alcoholic?!

Seriously, this baby has the bitterness of beer, but it doesn't have the kick of a beer at all. and the worst is... it made my headache worse! due to the long duration of exposure to the sun and not enough water in the afternoon (and i'm not supposed to drink water in front of these people)

Just cant wait to go home! ASAP!!!
